Upgrade Your Handling with Genuine Sway Bars
Most drivers know the basic functions of their vehicle's systems, but fewer understand the signs of gradual wear and when replacement becomes necessary. Sway bars reduce body roll during cornering and improve handling stability. These simple yet effective components connect opposite sides of your suspension together. We provide authentic Nissan sway bars designed to maintain proper weight transfer and control.
How Sway Bars Reduce Body Roll
Sway bars are torsion springs that twist when one side of your suspension compresses more than the other. This twisting action transfers some of the load to the opposite wheel and reduces lean. The Nissan Armada and Nissan Kicks use different diameter bars matched to their size and weight. Rubber bushings allow the bar to rotate freely while securing it to the frame. End links connect the bar to the suspension components and brake calipers on each side.
Why Sway Bars and Bushings Deteriorate
Rubber bushings dry out and crack from heat, age, and exposure to petroleum products. The bushings lose their ability to grip the bar and allow excessive movement. End links develop worn ball joints that create clunking noises. Corrosion attacks the steel bar itself, particularly at mounting points. Cheap replacement bushings use harder rubber compounds that wear quickly and don't provide the same damping characteristics as genuine parts.
When to Replace Sway Bar Components
Replace bushings when you hear clunking sounds from the suspension during turns or over bumps. Excessive body roll during cornering indicates worn or damaged sway bar components. Inspect bushings annually for cracks, tears, or separation from the bar.
